The Journey of Darkside of the Moon

The recent conclusion of “Darkside of the Moon” (黑色月光) has piqued the interest of many fans as the series entered its final 25th episode. This Youku and TVB collaboration marked Tavia Yeung’s return to TVB after a six-year absence, following her role in 2018’s “Another Era.” Initially, the show received acclaim for its captivating plot and well-paced storytelling, drawing comparisons to other successful series like “The Queen of News,” which has already announced a second season.

Frustration with the Finale

However, as the narrative progressed, it became increasingly chaotic, culminating in a finale that left many viewers dissatisfied. Spoilers ahead! One of the most pressing questions was the fate of the villain played by Rosina Lam. The conclusion saw several antagonists turn on each other, showcasing a dramatic turn of events. Cheuk Wai Wan’s ambition ultimately led to her downfall, resulting in a series of betrayals that stripped her of her assets and sanity, ultimately landing her in a mental hospital.

Hints at Season 2

While Cheuk Sai Kei, portrayed by Jonathan Cheung, successfully reclaimed his family’s empire, Cheuk Wai Wan’s defeat felt more like an exposition than a thrilling climax. Nevertheless, the main protagonists found their happy endings, hinting at potential developments in a future season. The end credits included a tantalizing scene with Cheuk Wai Wan in a mental institution, hinting at her relentless spirit despite a grim diagnosis from her doctor. As fans speculate about a second season, the mixed reviews reflect a divided audience. While stories can become convoluted and plot holes emerge, the performances of the cast left many intrigued. Will season 2 of “Darkside of the Moon” materialize, or will it remain a mere suggestion? The future is uncertain, but the hints certainly have fans talking!
