Exciting Collaboration Announced

Prominent South Korean actors Ha Jung Woo and Gong Hyo Jin are set to showcase their talents together in the upcoming comedy film titled “The People Upstairs” (working title). This announcement was made on December 11, when a reliable source in the entertainment industry revealed that Ha Jung Woo would take on the dual role of actor and director for this highly anticipated project.

Returning to the Screen Together

This marks a significant moment, as it will be the first time the duo collaborates in such capacities since their successful partnership in the films “Love Fiction” and “Project 577” back in 2012. Their previous works highlighted not only their acting skills but also the remarkable chemistry they share. Recently, Gong Hyo Jin even attended Ha Jung Woo’s 14th solo art exhibition, further emphasizing their strong bond and mutual support.

Plot and Production Details

The film “The People Upstairs” revolves around an intriguing narrative where two couples confront the complexities that arise from noise complaints between their apartments. This comedic setup leads them to a fateful dinner together, hinting at a delightful mix of humor and relatable situations. Filming for this project is scheduled to commence in January 2025, marking it as Ha Jung Woo’s fourth directorial endeavor, following his previous works: “Fasten Your Seatbelt,” “Chronicle of a Blood Merchant,” and the upcoming “Lobby.” Fans are eagerly anticipating the unique dynamic that Ha Jung Woo and Gong Hyo Jin will bring to the screen, 13 years after their last project together.
