Song Seung Heon is making a much-anticipated return to the small screen with a fresh romantic comedy twist in “My Troublesome Star”, premiering August 18 at 10 p.m. KST.

The drama tells the whimsical yet heartfelt story of Im Se Ra (played by Jang Da Ah), South Korea’s most beloved celebrity, who mysteriously vanishes—only to wake up decades later in the body of Bong Cheong Ja (Uhm Jung Hwa), an ordinary middle-aged woman. Suddenly thrown into a life far from the spotlight, she finds an unlikely ally in Dokgo Chul (Song Seung Heon), a former detective with his own complicated past.

Reflecting on why he chose this project, Song Seung Heon shared:
“When I first read the script, it felt fresh and touching. The blend of humor and heartfelt emotions across eras instantly drew me in.”
He added that the character of Dokgo Chul was a big part of the appeal:
“Dokgo Chul is charming in his own way. I thought I could showcase a new side of myself through him.”
On returning to the rom-com genre, he said:
“It’s been a while since I’ve done a romance. I think this drama will let me express a lighter, more playful side compared to my recent roles.”
He described Dokgo Chul as “sharp and decisive on the surface, with a warm and deeply human side that slowly unfolds.”
