Lee Seung Gi Opens Up About His Musical Passion… “I’m Reflecting on Myself”
The 8-year reunion with Jeon In Kwon on Live Wire
Singer Lee Seung Gi shared his deep passion for music on the Mnet music talk show ‘Live Wire’. He confessed, “When I asked myself what makes me feel most excited and happy, it turned out to be ‘music’ and ‘singing’.” He revealed that he has been focusing more on his music activities recently.
In the upcoming episode of ‘Live Wire’ airing on August 1, Lee Seung Gi and legendary band Deulgukhwa’s vocalist Jeon In Kwon will reunite after 8 years and share a special moment. The two first met on a variety show in 2017.
Lee Seung Gi commented, “Jeon In Kwon has a tough and serious image, but when you meet him in person, he’s actually warm and down-to-earth,” and added, “I hope you all enjoy the show without being too tense.” The atmosphere in the studio was tense when Jeon In Kwon appeared, and Lee Seung Gi humorously compared it to the feeling of a military commander visiting a military barracks.
Lee Seung Gi also revealed that he has been focusing more on music, saying, “I’m taking time to reflect on myself these days. I’m not a natural-born talent, so I’ve been taking vocal lessons and practicing regularly.” He shared his current status and mentioned that, as he celebrates his 20th anniversary in the industry, his goal is to create a mega-hit song within the next five years, one that 90% of people would recognize just from hearing the first few seconds.
During the show, Jeong Jae Hyung asked Jeon In Kwon for advice on creating a mega-hit, and Jeon In Kwon’s unexpected response reportedly had the studio laughing. The two are also set to perform a duet, building excitement for their musical collaboration across generations.
Lee Seung Gi and Jeon In Kwon’s heartfelt music discussion and their duet performance will be featured on ‘Live Wire’ episode 7, airing simultaneously on Mnet and tvN at 7 PM on August 1.
