The “Earth Team” from travel variety show The Earth Super Fresh is taking their chemistry from the road to the ancient world! Gong Jun, Wang Yuwen, and Li Naiwen, fresh off their variety show, are reuniting in the new drama Bai Yi Gong Qing. Set during the Yongle era of the Ming Dynasty, the story follows young Ye Zhao (played by Gong Jun) as he infiltrates the Imperial Martial Arts Academy under an alias to avenge his family, only to be drawn into the treacherous web of political intrigue and martial rivalries. Blending revenge, coming-of-age growth, palace schemes, martial brotherhood, and romance, the drama promises fast-paced suspense and layered storytelling.
The cast delivers both star power and acting chops. Gong Jun will portray Ye Zhao’s transformation from a naive youth to a composed swordsman. Wang Yuwen’s role remains under wraps, but rumors suggest she and Gong Jun will form a “power couple,” sparking much anticipation. Veteran actor Li Naiwen brings solid acting credibility, while Love Like the Galaxy’s Yu Cheng’en joins the ensemble for a fresh dynamic. Behind the scenes, director Yang Wenjun is known for masterful political intrigue and visual aesthetics, writers Bian Zhihong and Wu Nan excel at multi-character storytelling, and production house Xixi Pictures is going all-out with an A+ level production to craft a refined historical world.
