Overview of the 2025 Newsis K-Expo
On August 28, 2025, the prestigious Newsis K-Expo took place at the Lotte Hotel Crystal Ballroom in Seoul. This annual gala, organized to recognize outstanding contributions towards the development of K-culture, brought together various personalities and entities that have made significant strides in this vibrant industry. The event, graciously supported by Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and various other organizations, showcased the richness of South Korea’s cultural landscape.

Notable Winners and Awards
The event honored a range of individuals and groups for their creativity and impact. Among the top winners, IU received the coveted Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Award, celebrating her numerous contributions to the music industry. The Seoul Mayor Award was presented to the hit K-pop group, ATEEZ, along with the writer Hue Park for their heartfelt ballad “Maybe Happy Ending.”
Global Recognition and Emerging Stars
The 2025 Newsis K-Expo also recognized emerging talent and global influencers within the K-culture sphere. Lee Jung Jae garnered the Minister of Foreign Affairs Award, while Lee Jun Hyuk and Lee Joo Bin shared the National Assembly’s Culture, Sports, and Tourism Committee’s Chairman Award.
