Rising star Ahn Hyo Seop may soon be heating up the small screen again—this time in the kitchen.
On September 3, SPOTV News reported that the actor is being considered for the lead role in the upcoming drama “The Final Table” (literal title), a high-stakes survival series centered on Korean cuisine.
In response, Ahn Hyo Seop’s agency The Present Company confirmed, “It is a project he has been offered and is currently reviewing.”
“The Final Table” will follow a group of elite Korean chefs from across the globe as they gather to compete in The Table: K-Chef 2026, a fierce international culinary competition that will crown the world’s best Korean chef. The drama promises intense cooking battles, cultural identity exploration, and character-driven drama.
Ahn Hyo Seop has reportedly been offered the role of Kang Han, a mysterious chef known internationally as Chris K. Having left Korea during elementary school, Kang Han has spent the past 25 years abroad, with much of his personal history shrouded in secrecy. His return to Korea to compete in The Table raises questions about his past—and what he’s really after.
If confirmed, the role would offer Ahn Hyo Seop another opportunity to showcase his range, portraying a complex character navigating identity, ambition, and rivalry—all set against the dramatic backdrop of a global culinary showdown.
In the meantime, Ahn Hyo Seop is currently filming SBS’s upcoming drama “Sold Out Again Today” (working title), keeping his schedule packed with compelling projects.
Stay tuned for updates on whether Ahn will take the chef’s knife for The Final Table.
