A timeless love story is about to unfold in Okusama wa Shogun Fujin!?, a short film starring Yamaya Kasumi and Nakayama Yuma, now available on the Helo app from September 10. Blending romance, reincarnation, and a touch of historical drama, the film spans centuries to explore the unbreakable bond between two souls fated to meet again.

Set across two eras — the late Edo period and modern-day Japan — the story begins with Ichika (played by Yamaya), the graceful wife of Shogun Yagami (Nakayama). Tragedy strikes when Ichika is attacked and killed by a jealous maid. However, fate intervenes, and her soul is miraculously transported hundreds of years into the future.
Waking in the present day, Ichika finds herself reincarnated as the wife of Kisaragi Kiyoshi (also played by Nakayama), the powerful CEO of a major corporation, SNK. With her memories fragmented, Ichika is bewildered by this new world and the man beside her — who bears an uncanny resemblance to her past-life husband, Yagami. As she adjusts to modern life, Ichika relies on her innate poise and samurai spirit to face the unknown and rediscover a love that transcends time.
Adding depth to the story are Shimogyo Keiko and Takahashi Kensuke, rounding out the small but impactful cast of this emotional period-meets-modern tale.
With themes of destiny, identity, and devotion, Okusama wa Shogun Fujin!? offers a heartfelt narrative packed into a short format, inviting viewers to believe in the power of love — even across lifetimes.
