MBC has confirmed Lee Sung-kyung and Chae Jong-hyeop as the lead cast of its upcoming Friday–Saturday drama Your Radiant Season, unveiling a romance that brings together two contrasting souls—one radiant like summer, the other frozen in winter.

Scheduled to air in the first half of 2025, Your Radiant Season (planned by Namgoong Sung-woo, written by Jo Seong-hee, directed by Jeong Sang-hee and Kim Young-jae) follows the unexpected connection between Chan, a man who lives each day as if on summer vacation, and Ran, a woman who has emotionally shut herself away in winter. Their fateful meeting marks the beginning of a story where warmth and sorrow collide, thawing the silence between them.

The drama brings together writer Jo Seong-hee, known for refreshing romance series like I’m 30, But Still 17, She Was Pretty, and High School King of Survival, with director Jeong Sang-hee, who earned praise for her sensitive storytelling in Send Me a Fan Letter and Wonderful World. Their collaboration, paired with the chemistry between Lee Sung-kyung and Chae Jong-hyeop, has already sparked anticipation ahead of its premiere.

Lee Sung-kyung plays Song Ha-ran, a celebrated lead designer at high-end fashion house Nana Atelier. Beneath her poised, flawless exterior lies unresolved grief following personal loss. Ran has long lived in emotional retreat, until an unexpected encounter with Chan disrupts her carefully managed routine and begins to unfreeze the world she has kept at a distance.

Chae Jong-hyeop portrays Seon Woo-chan, a character designer at a global animation studio. Though cheerful and full of warmth, Chan carries unresolved pain from a mysterious accident in his past. His meeting with Ha-ran not only challenges his perceptions but also draws him into secrets neither expected to face.

Lee Sung-kyung continues to expand her range within the romance genre, with previous roles in Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim, Say You Love Me, and Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo. In this new role, she is expected to portray a character both emotionally complex and quietly vulnerable. Chae Jong-hyeop, who has steadily built a diverse portfolio through Eye Love You, Diva of the Deserted Island, 493km to You, and Coincidence?, will bring a mix of warmth and depth to the character of Chan.

According to the production team, both actors were chosen for their ability to embody the emotional layers of their respective roles. As the two characters confront hidden truths and unresolved emotions, the story will explore whether they can become each other’s spring—and how their relationship transforms through unfolding revelations and emotional shifts.

Your Radiant Season is currently in production and will air on MBC in the first half of 2025.
