Following a recent statement from THE BOYZ’s agency ONE HUNDRED regarding the controversy over QWER’s new light stick design, QWER’s agencies have now issued an official response to clarify their position.
Earlier this month, QWER introduced their official light stick featuring a megaphone-shaped design. However, the release quickly sparked debate within fan communities, as many noted its similarity to THE BOYZ’s megaphone-shaped light stick, which has been in use since 2021.
On September 25, ONE HUNDRED addressed the situation, explaining that they had engaged in discussions with QWER’s team and requested design changes. Despite these efforts, the parties were unable to reach a resolution. The agency also warned of possible legal action, stating, “Moving forward, we will take strong measures, including legal procedures in cooperation with relevant institutions, to prevent such incidents from recurring.”
In response, QWER’s agencies, 3Y Corporation and Prism Filter, released a joint statement via QWER’s official fan café to address the concerns and share their standpoint.
They began by assuring fans and the public that the newly released QWER light stick does not violate any design or copyright laws. According to their statement, multiple legal reviews conducted by lawyers and patent attorneys confirmed that the product is free from copyright infringement issues.
QWER’s agencies expressed regret over ONE HUNDRED’s sudden announcement of legal action while amicable discussions were still ongoing. They emphasized their commitment to listening to various opinions and pledged to continue making efforts to support both their artists and fans.
The statement concluded with gratitude toward BAWIGE, QWER’s fandom, for their unwavering support and a promise to protect the rights and interests of all parties involved.
As the situation develops, both agencies appear intent on resolving the matter while prioritizing transparency and respect for the fan communities on all sides.
