MBN’s political melodrama “First Lady” is set to deliver another gripping twist in its upcoming episode.
The series follows the shocking story of a president-elect who demands a divorce from his wife just 67 days before his inauguration. Eugene stars as Cha Soo Yeon, a sharp and ambitious political strategist destined to become the first lady—until her husband Hyun Min Chul (Ji Hyun Woo), the newly elected president, shatters her life with his sudden request for separation.
Spoilers
In the previous episode, Cha Soo Yeon dramatically tore up the divorce papers in front of Hyun Min Chul, declaring the beginning of her counterattack. She later confronted both her husband and his confidante Shin Hye Rin (Lee Min Young) after uncovering their involvement in a scandal linked to a school violence video featuring her estranged half-brother Cha Jung Yeon (Do Yu) and her daughter Hyun Ji Yoo (Park Seo Kyung).
New stills preview one of the drama’s most emotional moments yet: Soo Yeon kneeling in the pouring rain, begging for forgiveness in front of protestors from her own fan club. Rejecting the umbrella offered by her housekeeper, she chooses instead to face the storm—both literal and symbolic—as she pleads for understanding, soaked and trembling but unbroken.
The scene captures a profound shift in Soo Yeon’s journey, as she confronts the consequences of her past and struggles to rebuild public trust.
Will Cha Soo Yeon’s heartfelt apology win back the support of her fans? And what hidden truth compels her to take such a drastic step?
The next episode of “First Lady” airs on October 8 at 10:20 p.m. KST.
