The upcoming Netflix series *Ikusagami*, starring Okada Junichi, has revealed that Abe Hiroshi will join the cast as a master swordsman. Based on the novel of the same name by Imamura Shogo, the series is directed by Fujii Michihito, who previously collaborated with Okada on the film *Saigo made Iku* and directed several notable works like *Yomei 10-nen*, *Yakuza to Kazoku The Family*, *Shinbun Kisha*, and *The Parades*. Okada also serves as a producer and is in charge of the action planning for the series.

Set in the 11th year of the Meiji period at the Tenryuji Temple in Kyoto, 292 samurai participate in a game of “wooden tag,” where the prize is awarded to the first person to reach Tokyo. The story follows the main character, Saga Shujiro (Okada Junichi), who enters the game in a desperate attempt to save his wife and child from a deadly illness.The series boasts a stellar supporting cast, including Fujisaki Yumia, Kiyohara Kaya, Yamada Takayuki, Ninomiya Kazunari, Higashide Masahiro, Sometani Shota, Saotome Taichi, Endo Yuya, Ichinose Wataru, Yoshioka Riho, Tamaki Hiroshi, Ito Hideaki, Fuchikami Yasushi, Jo Kairi, Hamada Gaku, Okazaki Taiiku, Iura Arata, Tanaka Tetsushi, and Nakajima Ayumu.
*Ikusagami* consists of 6 episodes and will be available globally starting November 13.
