Actress Jun Ji Hyun has officially made her first appearance on YouTube, reuniting with her longtime friend and former co-star Hong Jin Kyung.

On October 30, The Fact reported that Jun Ji Hyun recently filmed an episode for Hong Jin Kyung’s YouTube channel, Study King True Genius Hong Jin Kyung. Known for rarely appearing on variety shows or broadcasts outside her film and drama projects, Jun Ji Hyun’s participation immediately drew major public attention.

According to insiders, Jun Ji Hyun agreed to appear out of her close friendship with Hong Jin Kyung. The two first worked together in the hit 2014 SBS drama My Love from the Star, where Hong Jin Kyung played Jun Ji Hyun’s friend “Hong.” They reunited again in The Legend of the Blue Sea (2016), where Hong made a cameo appearance. Fans are eager to see their on-screen chemistry once again in this upcoming episode.

While Jun Ji Hyun made a brief appearance on actress Lee Mi Suk’s YouTube channel in September, that moment was unplanned, as it took place during a press event for the Disney+ series Tempest. Her feature on Study King True Genius Hong Jin Kyung marks her first official YouTube guest appearance.

Launched in 2021, Hong Jin Kyung’s channel has grown to over 1.76 million subscribers, featuring prominent guests such as BLACKPINK’s Jennie, Go So Young, Lee Young Ae, and even political figures like President Lee Jae Myung. The release date for Jun Ji Hyun’s episode has not yet been announced.

Jun Ji Hyun made her acting debut in 1997 and has starred in numerous acclaimed works, including Il Mare, My Sassy Girl, The Thieves, The Berlin File, Assassination, My Love from the Star, The Legend of the Blue Sea, Kingdom: Ashin of the North, Mount Jiri, and Tempest.

In Tempest, released in September, she played Moon Joo, a woman investigating the forces behind an attack on a presidential candidate. Jun Ji Hyun is also set to star in director Yeon Sang Ho’s upcoming sci-fi film Colony, slated for release next year.
