Actor Ryu Jun Yeol will take part in the special content celebrating the 10th anniversary of the beloved tvN drama Reply 1988, despite earlier reports that he would not attend.
On October 30, a representative from tvN told Sports Chosun,
“Although Ryu Jun Yeol was unable to join the full MT (membership training) trip due to other commitments, he adjusted his schedule to participate in part of the filming since it marks the 10th anniversary of Reply 1988.”
Initially, it was reported that Ryu Jun Yeol could not participate due to scheduling conflicts. However, he later joined a portion of the shoot. The anniversary project is said to include a group trip to Gangwon Province and unit filming sessions organized by family teams, with Ryu taking part in some of these segments.
Around 15 cast members from Reply 1988 reunited for the celebration, drawing major public interest. Among them was Hyeri, Ryu Jun Yeol’s former girlfriend, sparking curiosity over a potential reunion. However, insiders shared that the two did not meet, as Ryu was busy with his ongoing film project The Rat.
Ryu Jun Yeol and Hyeri first met while filming Reply 1988, where their on-screen chemistry later blossomed into a real-life romance. The pair confirmed their relationship in August 2017 and officially announced their breakup in November 2023.
