Actor Song Geon Hee, known for his role in Lovely Runner (tentative translation), is set to begin his military service this December.
On November 24, local media reported his enlistment news, and shortly afterward, his agency JG Entertainment confirmed the information. According to the statement, Song Geon Hee will enlist as an active-duty soldier in the Army on December 1. After completing basic training, he will continue his mandatory service, with discharge scheduled for May 2027.
Born in 1997, Song Geon Hee made his debut in 2017 through the web drama Flat. Since then, he has appeared in a range of productions, including My ID Is Gangnam Beauty, SKY Castle, Moment of Eighteen, Lovely Runner (tentative translation), and Family by Choice.
His portrayal of Kim Tae Sung in Lovely Runner earned him significant recognition, with audiences praising his heartfelt and grounded performance. The drama successfully concluded in May of last year, marking an important milestone in his rising career.
