In 2005, actress Wang Yuanke, newly graduated from the PLA Academy of Arts, traveled to Hengdian for an audition. There, she caught sight of actor Wang Yu filming on set, and his composed presence left a lasting impression on her. Although they did not exchange contact information at the time, her admiration for him quietly began.

For years, she followed his career from afar until fate reunited them in 2011 through the drama The Oath of This Life. Seizing the opportunity, she approached him with thoughtful care during filming, though Wang Yu, reserved by nature, initially interpreted her gestures as simple collegiality. A candid conversation later revealed her long-standing affection, starting from their first encounter in 2005. Her sincerity moved him, and their relationship officially blossomed.

On November 11, 2012, Wang Yu publicly proposed at Beijing’s World Trade Plaza through a large LED screen, drawing crowds of onlookers. The couple registered their marriage the same day, choosing a modest celebration with family over a grand ceremony.

Soon after, Wang Yuanke became pregnant with twins. During pregnancy, she faced significant emotional strain due to drastic physical changes and a forced career hiatus, eventually experiencing postpartum depression. Realizing her distress, Wang Yu paused his out-of-town projects and took on most parenting duties, offering constant support that helped her recover.

Their twin sons were born at the end of 2013. The couple named them “Wang Yimo” and “Wang Yiyang,” expressing wishes for unity, integrity, and mutual support between the brothers.

Upon returning to work in 2014, Wang Yuanke resumed acting from smaller roles while caring for her children. Through persistent dedication, she participated in multiple productions and achieved a breakthrough in 2018 with her portrayal of Consort Chun in Story of Yanxi Palace, which significantly boosted her visibility and revitalized her career.

Despite rising popularity, she maintained the principle of “family first.” She and Wang Yu developed a balanced system of shared responsibilities, ensuring that their careers and family life complemented each other rather than conflicted.

By 2025, the twins had grown into twelve-year-olds with striking looks inherited from their father. With distinct personalities and diverse talents, they excelled academically and socially, while showing maturity and consideration toward their parents.

Throughout their marriage, the couple has remained free of scandals and has been regarded as a model pair within the industry. Their relationship thrives not on grand gestures but on mutual respect, open communication, and steady companionship. In a field often marked by volatility, their enduring bond stands as a testament to sincerity, dedication, and shared values.
