TVB Best Actress Rosina Lam, an alumna of the Central Academy of Drama and longtime friend of mainland actor Chen Xiao, has made a guest appearance in his major new drama The Great Businessman. With the series’ recent premiere, her portrayal of Empress Dowager Cixi has been unveiled through a set of promotional photos.
Rosina has been sharing her Qing dynasty costume looks on social media over the past few days, capturing attention for the refined styling and strong presence. Fellow TVB actress Yoyo Chen humorously commented on her post, greeting her with “Blessings to the Empress Dowager!”, prompting lively reactions from fans.
Reflecting on the experience, Rosina expressed that working with Chen Xiao for the first time was especially meaningful. She admitted that wearing Qing-style costumes was challenging and that filming a period drama required considerable physical effort. “It’s my first time wearing Qing attire, and at times it felt a bit like ‘self-torture’. Filming ancient dramas is extremely tough, but somehow I really enjoy it,” she said. She also hopes viewers will support the series and look forward to its performance.
