ENA has officially announced that Choo Young Woo and Kim So Hyun will star in the upcoming romance drama “Romance Expert” (literal title), set to premiere in 2026.
The series is directed by Ahn Pan Seok, known for acclaimed romance works such as Something in the Rain, One Spring Night, and The Midnight Romance in Hagwon. The drama follows the intertwined lives of a former swimmer who lost his right leg to illness and a woman who, after losing her direction as a medical resident, begins anew as a graduate student.
Choo Young Woo will portray Park Min Jae, once an aspiring swimmer whose dreams were cut short after the loss of his right leg. Now a PhD candidate in robotics, he approaches research with steady determination. Though awkward at expressing emotions, his life begins to shift when the driven and bold Yoo Jin appears before him.
The actor expressed his enthusiasm, noting his respect for Director Ahn and sharing that he is preparing diligently for the role. He highlighted the strength of the script, cast, and production team, asking viewers for their support.
Kim So Hyun will take on the role of Im Yoo Jin, who majored in clothing and textiles but becomes unsure of her future. After exposing an unfair incident in her department and being labeled a troublemaker, her academic path is blocked. A chance encounter with Min Jae introduces her to the world of robotics, and she throws herself into both her research and her pursuit of Min Jae. Her journey raises anticipation about whether she can break through Min Jae’s emotional defenses.
The actress shared her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to work with Director Ahn, adding that Yoo Jin’s bold charm immediately captivated her. She promised to deliver her best performance for viewers.
