KBS’s upcoming historical drama “To My Beloved Thief” has unveiled the first look at Moon Sang Min’s character, raising anticipation for his newest transformation.
The drama follows the unusual story of Hong Eun Jo (played by Nam Ji Hyun), an ordinary woman who unexpectedly becomes the legendary bandit Gil Dong. While being pursued by a royal prince, she suddenly switches souls with him. Bound by this supernatural incident, the two begin saving each other and ultimately work together to protect the people.

Moon Sang Min stars as Prince Yi Yeol, the king’s younger brother whose mission is to capture Hong Eun Jo. Handsome, tall, and naturally charismatic, Yi Yeol is a prince who loves roaming the capital in search of entertainment. His greatest joy comes from indulging in detective work, frequently visiting the police bureau to help solve various cases. He even gathers palace eunuchs and court ladies to recount his stories of heroic investigations.
Although many view Yi Yeol’s eccentric behaviors as careless play, his actions stem from a deliberate plan to protect the people he cherishes. Behind the façade of a hobbyist sleuth lies a man of sharp insight and hidden strength. Fate takes a dramatic turn when he encounters the bandit Gil Dong and becomes entirely captivated. This sets the stage for a central mystery: why is Yi Yeol hiding his true abilities, and can he capture the thief who has stolen his heart?

The newly released stills depict Yi Yeol’s dual life—elegant prince by appearance, passionate detective at heart. Wearing magnificent royal robes, he casually leaves the palace whenever he wishes and treats the police bureau as though it were his personal workplace. In one image, he examines a large evidence board filled with sketches and crime-scene clues, showcasing his keen deductive skills. With his history of solving countless cases, expectations are rising for his pursuit of the elusive Gil Dong, as well as for Moon Sang Min’s fresh character transformation.
“To My Beloved Thief” will premiere on January 3, 2026, at 9:20 p.m. KST.
