Netflix has officially announced the start of production for its upcoming action blockbuster “TYGO,” starring Ma Dong Seok, BLACKPINK’s Lisa, and Lee Jin Uk. As a spin-off of Netflix’s hit “Extraction” series, the film will expand the shared universe with new storylines and a fresh Korean-led action concept.

“TYGO” follows the story of Tygo, a mercenary who grew up as a child soldier. When his close friend Lia—whom he considers family—is abducted during a high-stakes mission, Tygo is pushed into a perilous rescue operation. Ma Dong Seok takes the lead role, bringing his signature intensity to a character shaped by years of survival in conflict zones. Lee Jin Uk plays Arman Choi, a pivotal figure within the criminal organization opposing Tygo.
Lisa plays Lia, Tygo’s closest companion since childhood, with the two sharing a deep bond forged through surviving dangerous pasts together. After appearing in HBO’s “The White Lotus” Season 3, Lisa will make her Korean film debut in “TYGO,” marking her first challenge in an action film.

Directed by Lee Sang Yong—known for “The Roundup 2,” “The Roundup 3,” and the upcoming “The Roundup 5”—the film is produced by Big Punch Pictures led by Ma Dong Seok, alongside AGBO, the studio behind “Extraction” and “The Gray Man.” Nova Film and B&C Content, both involved in Netflix’s “Badland Hunters,” will join as co-producers.
Ma Dong Seok shared his excitement, noting that “TYGO” is a long-prepared project that will bring a uniquely Korean flavor to the global “Extraction” universe. Lee Jin Uk expressed his honor at joining a franchise he has admired, and Lisa conveyed her joy at fulfilling her dream of starring in an action film while working with exceptional talent.
More updates on “TYGO” are on the way—stay tuned!
