SM Entertainment has released an official statement addressing the malicious posts and online attacks directed at aespa’s Winter. On December 10, through the KWANGYA 119 platform—used to report issues related to SM artists—the company provided an update on its ongoing legal measures and announced an expansion of actions to safeguard the artist’s rights.

According to the statement, SM has been closely monitoring harmful content through both fan reports and internal tracking. The company noted that Winter has been subjected to large-scale malicious activities, including sexual harassment, defamation, personal insults, invasion of privacy, and deepfake content. SM emphasized that numerous defamatory posts have been identified across platforms such as DC Inside, Women’s Generation, Nate Pann, Instiz, TheQoo, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube. After reviewing these posts, SM plans to expand its legal complaints in stages.

In addition to pursuing criminal and civil action against perpetrators, SM is gathering extensive evidence against individuals who repeatedly spread false information, create malicious rumors, produce sexually harassing material, or distribute distorted or mocking content through social media and anonymous communities. The company stressed that it will respond firmly and without leniency, urging the public not to become involved in such misconduct.

SM concluded by reaffirming its commitment to protecting the rights and well-being of its artists and ensuring they can continue their activities in a safer, healthier environment.
