The upcoming film Project Y has unveiled new character stills featuring Kim Sung Cheol, offering a first in-depth look at his role as the film’s central antagonist. The images immediately draw attention for the intense presence and commanding aura he brings to the screen.

Set against the sleek and glamorous backdrop of Seoul’s Gangnam district, Project Y is a crime film centered on Mi Seon (played by Han So Hee) and Do Kyung (played by Jeon Jong Seo), two close friends who have nothing but each other. Trapped by a harsh reality, they devise a risky plan to steal gold bars worth 8 billion won and disappear without a trace.
Kim Sung Cheol takes on the role of CEO To, the film’s ultimate villain and a key opposing force within the story. In the newly released stills, he commands attention with a sharp, unwavering gaze. Whether dressed in a tailored black suit while navigating a crowded space with palpable tension, or appearing in more casual attire after exercising, his eyes remain striking and intense.

The visuals portray CEO To as a ruthless figure who dominates every scene he enters, embodying both authority and menace. Through subtle expressions and controlled physicality, Kim Sung Cheol shapes a character who feels both threatening and magnetic, heightening the film’s dramatic stakes.
Director Lee Hwan shared that working with Kim Sung Cheol was a major source of creative inspiration, further raising anticipation for the character of CEO To as uniquely interpreted by the actor. Rather than a one-dimensional villain, the role appears poised to add depth and complexity to the film’s conflict.
Project Y is scheduled for theatrical release on January 21, 2026.
