Actor Kim Jae Won is reportedly in discussions to take on the lead role in an upcoming romance drama that has recently undergone significant restructuring.

On December 19, Korean outlet OSEN reported that Kim Jae Won had received an offer to star in the drama tentatively titled “My Relationship That I Also Oppose,” and was said to be leaning toward accepting the role. In response, his agency Mystic Story clarified that the drama is “one of the projects currently under review,” stopping short of confirming his participation.
The series is described as a romance drama that examines the emotional complexity of reconnecting with a former lover, questioning whether such a reunion represents a continuation of the past or the beginning of something entirely new.
The project initially attracted attention due to its association with director Lee Eung Bok, renowned for helming hit dramas such as “Descendants of the Sun,” “Goblin,” and “Mr. Sunshine.” Lee Jong Suk and Go Min Si were previously in talks to lead the drama, but Lee Jong Suk ultimately declined due to scheduling conflicts.
Reports later indicated that director Lee Eung Bok also stepped away from the project, prompting the production team to restructure the drama from the ground up. With a new director and cast now being sought, Kim Jae Won’s potential involvement marks a notable development as the production moves forward in its revised form.
