Park Shin Hye has recently shared her thoughts on her upcoming drama “Undercover Miss Hong,” a lighthearted yet meaningful series set in the late 1990s. The project marks a new creative challenge for the actress, both in genre and historical setting.

“Undercover Miss Hong” stars Park Shin Hye as Hong Geum Bo, an elite financial supervisory officer in her thirties who has risen through the ranks during a time when professional success was far from accessible for women. Tasked with investigating suspicious financial activities, she goes undercover as a twenty-year-old entry-level employee at a securities firm, starting again from the very bottom.

Park Shin Hye explained that she was immediately drawn to the drama’s period setting, a genre she had never explored before. Beyond that, she found the premise itself compelling: a capable and accomplished woman being forced to hide her achievements and re-enter the workplace under a false identity, navigating both generational and professional gaps.

Describing her character, Park Shin Hye emphasized Geum Bo’s honesty, persistence, and inner strength. Having survived a fiercely competitive environment, Geum Bo refuses to be intimidated by patriarchal norms or institutional pressure. Instead, she confronts obstacles head-on, relying on her competence and resilience. This unwavering spirit, the actress noted, is what makes the character truly appealing.

When asked what audiences should look forward to most, Park Shin Hye highlighted the relationships within the story. From the tense dynamics between financial regulators and the securities firm’s crisis management team to the lively and entertaining chemistry among the four roommates sharing dorm room 301, interpersonal connections play a central role in the drama.

Park Shin Hye concluded by inviting viewers to follow Geum Bo’s journey and discover whether she can successfully complete her risky undercover mission, as well as what fate awaits Hanmin Securities.

“Undercover Miss Hong” will premiere on January 17, 2026, at 9:10 p.m. KST.
