The costume drama 《玉茗茶骨》- “Glory” has officially been scheduled to premiere on December 29, 2025. Starring Hou Minghao, Gulnazar, Chen Ruoxuan, Zhao Yiqin, and Zhang Nan, the series combines crime investigation, family power struggles, and emotional development into a multi-layered narrative.

The story centers on Lu Jianglai, a young top scholar who assumes office as the magistrate of Chun’an County. With sharp intellect and decisiveness, he solves a series of complex cases and quickly rises as a promising figure in officialdom. However, his career is abruptly derailed when he becomes entangled in an old murder case involving the killing of a wife, plunging him from political favor into a life-threatening predicament.

At the brink of death, Lu Jianglai is rescued by Rong Shanbao, the daughter of a powerful tea merchant family. Their connection, however, is far from benevolent. Previously, Lu Jianglai had clashed with the influential Rong family in political struggles, earning deep resentment. Taking advantage of his severe injuries, memory loss, and unclear identity, Shanbao brings him back to her household and demotes him to the lowest position as a stable hand, disguising vengeance as mercy.

In order to evade pursuit, Lu Jianglai chooses to conceal his identity and endure humiliation, quietly observing and waiting for an opportunity to reclaim control. When the Rong family announces a recruitment marriage, elite families from across Jiangnan arrive, each driven by hidden agendas. Caught in the crosscurrents, Lu Jianglai is unexpectedly drawn into the contest, becoming a pivotal figure in Shanbao’s strategic maneuvering.

As mutual suspicion gives way to cooperation, the two protagonists engage in battles of wit and power, gradually developing trust and affection. Together, they revisit unresolved cases, uncover long-buried truths, and confront the forces behind past injustices. Their alliance extends beyond personal survival to the restructuring of family order and the revitalization of the tea trade.

Set against expansive tea gardens, the series weaves romance into its suspense-driven plot, offering a restrained yet emotionally resonant love story. Through the evolving relationship between a calculating female heir and a fallen scholar in disguise, Yu Ming Tea and Bone explores themes of ambition, redemption, and partnership amid shifting power structures.
