Speculation about whether Zhou Jieqiong will return to a K-pop group next year is gaining clearer context. With 2026 marking the 10th anniversary of IOI, several former members have hinted that commemorative activities are being planned. Against this backdrop, Zhou Jieqiong’s potential participation has naturally become a focal point of discussion.

During her time with IOI and subsequent group activities in South Korea, Zhou Jieqiong maintained solid popularity and strong public recognition. After shifting her career focus to China, she transitioned quickly into acting and secured several leading roles. In recent years, however, the broader downturn in the film and television industry has reshaped opportunities across the board. Like many actors, she has taken on more supporting roles, a change driven more by market conditions than by a decline in her personal standing.

What stands out is her continued momentum. Zhou Jieqiong has recently moved seamlessly between two drama productions, White-Robed Courtier and Autumn Bamboo Mat, with little downtime in between. Discussions are also underway regarding a potential role in Do Not Yield the Realm, suggesting that her acting schedule remains tightly structured.

Within this framework, a return to IOI would not signal a career shift, but rather a carefully timed revisit to her roots. Once her current filming commitments conclude, participating in anniversary activities aligns both emotionally and professionally. It allows her to reconnect with the stage that first introduced her to the public, while complementing—rather than replacing—her work as an actress.

Taken together, Zhou Jieqiong’s possible return to IOI appears less like speculation and more like a logical outcome shaped by timing and planning. Balancing acting projects with a meaningful group reunion reflects a broader strategy: adapting to different phases of a career without abandoning any single identity.
