The popular Korean variety show Crime Scene may be making a return. On December 30, Hankyung.com reported that discussions are underway for a new season of Crime Scene, potentially set to be released on Netflix.

In response to the report, a Netflix representative stated, “We are positively discussing the production of a new season of ‘Crime Scene.’” However, key details such as the production schedule, cast lineup, and episode format have yet to be finalized, indicating that the project remains in its early planning stage.
According to industry sources, the upcoming season is expected to be produced once again by Studio Slam, led by producer Yoon Hyun Jun, who has overseen the series since its earlier installments. Studio Slam is also known for producing the Netflix original variety series Culinary Class Wars, further strengthening its track record in large-scale entertainment formats.
Crime Scene is recognized as Korea’s first RPG-style mystery variety program. In each season, cast members assume different roles within a fictional murder case, searching for clues and engaging in deduction to uncover the culprit. The most recent installment, Crime Scene Zero, featured fixed members Jang Jin, Park Ji Yoon, Jang Dong Min, Kim Ji Hun, and IVE’s An Yu Jin, with special guests appearing in each episode to add variation to the narrative.
If the new season moves forward on Netflix, it would mark another step in the platform’s continued investment in Korean variety content. As discussions progress, viewers are now waiting to see how the next chapter of Crime Scene might evolve in both format and scale.
