KBS 2TV’s upcoming drama To My Beloved Thief has offered a preview of the first meeting between Moon Sang Min and Nam Ji Hyun, setting the stage for a story that blends romance, fantasy, and hidden identities.

The drama stars Nam Ji Hyun as Hong Eun Jo, a woman leading a double life. By day, she works as a physician devoted to caring for the sick. By night, she becomes the legendary thief Hong Gil Dong, stealing from corrupt officials and redistributing their wealth among the people. The character’s dual existence forms the moral and emotional core of the narrative.
Moon Sang Min portrays Yi Yeol, a grand prince who conceals his royal status in order to serve as a government official. Gifted with sharp investigative instincts, Yi Yeol navigates the political undercurrents of the court while keeping his true identity hidden. When an unexpected body swap binds Eun Jo and Yi Yeol together, both are forced into a precarious situation where exposure could prove disastrous.
Newly released stills capture the moment the two characters meet for the first time in a crowded marketplace. Yi Yeol is immediately drawn to Hong Eun Jo, experiencing love at first sight. The visual contrast is striking: although Eun Jo holds the status of a slave, she is dressed in refined silk garments, while Yi Yeol, despite being a prince, appears in worn and modest clothing. This reversal subtly reflects the drama’s recurring themes of identity and appearance.
Another scene shows the pair seeking shelter from the rain beneath the eaves of a building. Yi Yeol’s gaze lingers on Eun Jo, quietly conveying his growing fascination and emotional pull. These moments hint at a romance shaped by secrecy, fate, and social contradiction.
To My Beloved Thief is set to premiere on January 3 at 9:20 p.m. KST, introducing viewers to a world where justice, disguise, and unexpected love intersect.
