Japanese actor Akaso Eiji and Korean actress Kang Hye Won have unveiled a pair photoshoot for Model Press in anticipation of their upcoming drama “Kimbap to Onigiri ~Koisuru Futari wa Niteite Chigau~.” In the newly released images, the two appear side by side in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere, offering a glimpse of the chemistry they will bring to the screen as the drama’s leading couple.

Produced by TV Tokyo, the series is set to premiere on January 12. It tells an emotional love story between two young people from different countries, focusing on how cultural backgrounds shape their perspectives while drawing them closer together. The title itself—combining Korea’s kimbap and Japan’s onigiri—serves as a metaphor for similarity and difference, hinting at a relationship that grows through contrast rather than conflict.

Early details suggest that the drama avoids exaggerated depictions of cultural clashes, instead emphasizing subtle emotional exchanges and everyday moments. Through small gestures and quiet conversations, the series explores how understanding and affection develop between two individuals navigating both common ground and divergence.

With its cross-cultural theme and the pairing of Akaso Eiji and Kang Hye Won, “Kimbap to Onigiri ~Koisuru Futari wa Niteite Chigau~” has already attracted attention ahead of its broadcast. As the premiere approaches, viewers are looking forward to a gentle yet resonant portrayal of love that transcends national borders.
