MBC’s upcoming romance drama In Your Radiant Season has revealed its first look at Chae Jong Hyeop in character, drawing attention ahead of its premiere.
The drama tells the story of Sunwoo Chan, a man who approaches each day as if it were a thrilling summer vacation, and Song Ha Ran, a woman who has emotionally shut herself away, living as though trapped in a cold winter. Through their encounter, the two begin a journey of emotional healing and change.
Chae Jong Hyeop plays Sunwoo Chan, an animator working at a world-renowned animation studio. Outwardly bright, cheerful, and full of warmth, Sunwoo Chan has a natural ability to make ordinary moments feel special. However, beneath his sunny exterior lie deep emotional scars linked to a mysterious accident in his past. After miraculously surviving a near-fatal incident seven years ago, he chose to live life to the fullest, treating every day like a precious holiday.
The newly released stills highlight Sunwoo Chan’s charm, with Chae Jong Hyeop’s gentle smile and relaxed presence instantly conveying a comforting, “boyfriend-material” appeal. At the same time, the character’s unresolved past and hidden truths hint at emotional depth and unexpected developments as the story unfolds.
The production team commented that Chae Jong Hyeop will portray the duality of Sunwoo Chan—his brightness and his wounds—with a warm yet nuanced performance, promising to gradually reveal the layers beneath his smile.
In Your Radiant Season is scheduled to premiere on February 20 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
