In response, her agency Basecamp Company confirmed that the project is one she has received an offer for and is currently reviewing, with no final decision made yet.
Sleeping Doctor is described as a romantic comedy centered on two contrasting doctors. The male lead, Hong Gyeong, is a promising psychiatrist who excels professionally but struggles to heal his own emotional wounds. The female lead, Nam Ji Oh, is known as the “Hua Tuo of the hospital world,” a figure renowned for her exceptional abilities, said to revive even hospitals on the brink of collapse. Their encounter sets the stage for a story that blends medical themes with romance and character-driven humor.
The drama is currently in the casting phase and is also in discussions regarding its broadcast schedule. Should Jin Ki Joo confirm her participation, the project would mark her return to the romantic comedy genre and add further anticipation to a series that is still taking shape.
