Wu Jiayi, born on December 1, 1995, in Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang Province, is a mainland Chinese actress and a graduate of the Central Academy of Drama. In January 2026, she released two short-form dramas in quick succession: Honor Decree, which premiered on January 5, and Hidden Blade, Veiled Grace, which aired on January 14, with Wu starring as the character Feng Li.

Based on publicly available data, both productions recorded relatively modest viewership within the short drama market. Average per-episode views remained in the lower-to-middle range, and neither title generated significant online discussion or viral momentum. In a highly saturated short drama environment, such performance is generally considered routine rather than standout.

From an industry perspective, short dramas serve different functions for actors. While they offer fast turnaround and continuous exposure, their impact on long-term visibility and career positioning can be limited unless supported by strong narratives or notable public response. In this context, Honor Decree and Hidden Blade, Veiled Grace appear to function more as standard content releases than as career-defining projects.

On January 19, attention shifted as Wu Jiayi’s upcoming television drama There Is a Zhou Dongbei in the Northeast unveiled its first concept poster. The move signals a return to longer-format television work, which typically allows for deeper character development and broader audience reach.

Overall, Wu Jiayi’s early 2026 short drama releases delivered steady but unremarkable results. With a new long-form project now entering the public eye, industry observers are likely to focus more closely on her next steps and how her role choices shape her trajectory moving forward.
