tvN’s upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama “Our Universe” has unveiled the first stills of Bae In Hyuk in character, offering an early look into the emotional and everyday world of his role. The romance drama follows two in-laws who begin their relationship on uneasy terms but end up living under the same roof to raise their 20-month-old nephew Woo Joo after the sudden loss of their older siblings.

Bae In Hyuk stars as Sun Tae Hyung, a blunt and seemingly cold photographer’s assistant whose reserved exterior hides a surprisingly gentle heart. Though still labeled an “assistant,” Tae Hyung possesses remarkable talent, strong enough to make even the lead photographer feel threatened. In the newly released stills, he stands out with a camera in hand and the brightest smile on set, hinting at the warmth beneath his prickly demeanor. Tae Hyung is a character shaped by an unresolved past, carrying emotions he has long kept to himself.

The drama also sheds light on Tae Hyung’s unexpected daily life as a “parenting novice.” Wearing a baby carrier and holding his nephew Woo Joo, he appears visibly flustered during an outing, his expression filled with confusion as he navigates the unpredictable moments that come with caring for a toddler. The contrast between his awkwardness and his quiet sincerity adds depth to the character, portraying a man who may not be naturally suited to childcare but is learning through responsibility.

Explaining why he chose to star in “Our Universe,” Bae In Hyuk shared that he was impressed by the drama’s realistic depiction of a guardian who is not good with children. He noted that the everyday situations that arise while living with Woo Joo bring both humor and warmth to the story, while Woo Joo’s natural cuteness contributes greatly to the drama’s charm.

Bae In Hyuk also reflected that experiencing aspects of childcare during filming deepened his respect for parents and helped him better understand the true meaning of responsibility. As the story unfolds, viewers can look forward to seeing how Sun Tae Hyung grows through care, connection, and emotional change.

“Our Universe” is set to premiere on February 4 at 10:40 p.m. KST.
