TVB’s legal drama “In the Name of Justice,” starring Mark Ma, Alice Chan, Ricco Ng, Joey Lai, and Hera Chan, is currently airing. The series was completed some time ago and was originally slated for TVB’s 2024 anniversary season, but multiple scheduling adjustments delayed its broadcast until now. With its placement in a highly competitive time slot and earlier reports of temporary withdrawal, expectations for its commercial performance have remained relatively cautious.

From a genre perspective, “In the Name of Justice” follows TVB’s familiar legal and suspense-driven storytelling. While the broadcaster’s overall market position has shifted in recent years, the drama still carries potential to build word-of-mouth if its narrative execution resonates with viewers. During its broadcast period, the cast has remained active in promotional events to support the series.

Despite being widely regarded as one of TVB’s rising leading actresses, Hera Chan does not appear as the main female lead in the drama, instead taking on the third female role. The casting choice differed slightly from public expectations, though it has not diminished her visibility or presence during the promotional cycle.

In conjunction with the drama’s release, Chan recently shared a new set of photos on social media. Featuring refined makeup, long wavy hair, and a more mature styling direction, the images drew attention for presenting a confident and polished image. Many viewers commented on her standout visuals among TVB’s younger generation of actresses.

Professionally, Chan’s career trajectory has shown steady upward momentum over the past two years. In last year’s anniversary drama “Golden Forest,” she took on her first leading role. Although the series did not achieve strong ratings, its overall reception was relatively positive, and Chan earned a spot among the final five nominees for Best Actress at a major awards ceremony—an achievement widely seen as recognition of her progress.

Looking ahead, Chan is set to remain highly active with multiple projects in the pipeline. In addition to “In the Name of Justice,” she is expected to appear in “Dead to Rights,” “The Battle of Marriage,” and the currently filming “City of Brilliance.” Notably, she once again serves as the female lead in “Dead to Rights,” underscoring TVB’s continued confidence in her.

Chan’s personal life has also drawn public attention. In 2024, reports surfaced linking her romantically to actor Brian Chu, with rumors at one point even suggesting an impending marriage. While both parties promptly denied the marriage claims, neither issued a clear denial of the relationship itself, leaving the matter open-ended.

As both actors remain in critical stages of their careers, their decision to keep their relationship private is widely understood. Despite being spotted together on multiple occasions, including attending concerts, they have yet to publicly confirm their relationship, maintaining what many observers describe as a semi-public but unconfirmed status.

Since winning the Miss Hong Kong title, Chan has progressed rapidly within the industry, entering major productions early in her career. Her debut drama “Mind Hunter,” which coincidentally paired her with Chu, initially drew mixed reactions regarding her acting. However, with experience and continued exposure, her performances have become increasingly stable.

Based on her current trajectory, Hera Chan has firmly positioned herself among TVB’s frontline actresses. At this stage, her focus appears to remain on consolidating her career, while keeping her personal life deliberately out of the spotlight.
