Park Seo Ham is set to captivate viewers in the upcoming romantic comedy “Our Universe,” as he recently shared insights into his character and his on-screen chemistry with Roh Jeong Eui and Bae In Hyuk.
“Our Universe” tells the story of two in-laws who initially clash but end up living under the same roof to raise their 20-month-old nephew Woo Joo together after the sudden passing of their older siblings. Through the challenges of childcare and shared daily life, their relationship slowly transforms, giving rise to unexpected emotions.
In the drama, Park Seo Ham plays Park Yoon Sung, the handsome and highly capable team leader of Planning Team 3 at BS Food. Known for topping the company’s popularity rankings, Yoon Sung has successfully led numerous projects as the youngest team leader. His seemingly flawless life, however, is disrupted when Woo Hyun Jin (Roh Jeong Eui), a woman with whom he shared unresolved feelings during their college days, rejoins the company as a member of his team. Her return stirs up emotions long buried, adding tension to Hyun Jin’s developing romance with Sun Tae Hyung (Bae In Hyuk).
Explaining why he chose the project, Park Seo Ham said that while reading the script, both the story and the characters felt inherently “lovable.” He was particularly drawn to Yoon Sung’s duality—someone who appears perfect on the outside yet harbors loneliness within. Portraying that sense of perfection and cool confidence proved more challenging than expected, leading to many discussions with the director. Rather than focusing solely on Yoon Sung’s composed exterior, Park emphasized highlighting his warmth and gentle nature.
Reflecting on his chemistry with Roh Jeong Eui, Park Seo Ham noted that their teamwork was strong throughout filming. He praised her for energizing the set and offering constant encouragement, adding that viewers should look forward to seeing what unfolds when two people who were each other’s first love reunite. As for Bae In Hyuk, Park described him as someone with a natural sensitivity, expressing gratitude for the way Bae attentively matched his gaze during emotionally demanding scenes.
Roh Jeong Eui also commented on their dynamic, saying that Hyun Jin and Yoon Sung share unforgettable excitement from their past and see reflections of themselves in each other. Because of the comfort between the characters, their acting exchanges felt natural, resulting in strong chemistry that made Park Seo Ham feel like an actual older brother to her.
“Our Universe” is set to premiere on February 4 at 10:40 p.m. KST and will be available for international viewers on Viki.
