The upcoming spy action film “HUMINT” is moving closer to its theatrical release, and on January 27 its distributor announced that the film will be released in IMAX, along with the unveiling of a new official poster.

“HUMINT” centers on the conflict between North and South Korean agents as they investigate criminal activities near the Vladivostok border. The film marks another IMAX project by director Ryoo Seung Wan, following “Escape from Mogadishu,” “Smugglers,” and “I, the Executioner,” continuing his focus on large-scale cinematic presentation.

The newly revealed poster features three central characters: National Intelligence Service agent Chief Jo (Zo In Sung), North Korea’s Ministry of State Security section chief Park Geon (Park Jeong Min), and North Korean restaurant worker Chae Seon Hwa (Shin Sae Kyeong). Although they stand together in the same frame, each faces a different direction, visually suggesting the complex and intertwined relationships that will drive the story.

According to the production team, “HUMINT” was designed from the outset to deliver a fully immersive theatrical experience, with particular attention to visual and audio impact. The film uses IMAX DMR technology to enhance both image and sound quality, and the stark contrast between the cold landscapes of Vladivostok and the intense action sequences is expected to heighten the overall dramatic tension.

Christopher J. Tillman, Vice President of International Development and Distribution at IMAX, commented that “HUMINT” is a film that truly shines in the IMAX format. From the icy skyline of Vladivostok to the film’s dynamic action scenes, the larger scale and clarity of IMAX are set to draw viewers deeper into a world shaped by unpredictable relationships and explosive conflict.

“HUMINT” is scheduled to be released in theaters on February 11.
