The Glamorous Night is an upcoming urban relationship drama starring Jiang Shuying and Tong Dawei, with Zhang Chao and Lyric Lan in leading roles, alongside special appearances by Kan Qingzi, Yuan Wenkang, and Cheung Siu-fai. Adapted from You Er’s acclaimed novel Sales Couple, the series places its story within the competitive world of corporate sales, using professional rivalry to expose deeper tensions in marriage and personal ethics.

Jiang Shuying plays Zhao Mei, a self-made executive who rises from a frontline sales position to regional manager through sheer capability. Tong Dawei portrays Li Dongming, a calculating realist whose decisions are guided primarily by self-interest. Their seemingly stable marriage begins to fracture after an industry gala, when Zhao Mei discovers evidence of Li Dongming’s infidelity along with suspicious financial records.

Rather than reacting impulsively, Zhao Mei chooses restraint. She quietly preserves evidence, consults legal advice, and reassesses her situation with striking clarity. Her response reflects a distinctly adult form of resolve—one that prioritizes control, preparation, and long-term outcomes over emotional confrontation.

At the same time, internal turmoil within the company opens up a coveted senior position. Zhao Mei finds herself in direct competition with Dong Yue, played by Zhang Chao, a man whose polite exterior masks an aggressive ambition. As the rivalry escalates, ethical boundaries erode, revealing how easily professionalism can give way to opportunism. Lyric Lan’s character, Liang Danning, represents a younger generation of professionals who balance ambition with a conscious effort to retain moral limits.

While navigating this corporate battlefield, Zhao Mei is also forced to maintain the façade of marital harmony. Li Dongming’s actions grow increasingly damaging, from financial manipulation to the disclosure of confidential business information for personal gain. When all the pieces fall into place, Zhao Mei makes a decisive move, exposing the truth at a critical moment and reclaiming control over both her career and personal life.

Eschewing exaggerated romance, The Glamorous Night focuses on self-worth, independence, and the cost of ambition. Its characters are neither purely virtuous nor entirely corrupt, reflecting a world where moral clarity is often blurred by desire and survival. The drama is set to premiere on January 28, followed by a television broadcast beginning the next day, positioning it as a timely and grounded exploration of modern urban life.
