Based on the best-selling novel Pavane for a Dead Princess, the drama Pavane follows three young adults who struggle to accept themselves while learning how to face life and love again. Recently released character stills featuring Go Ah Sung, Byun Yo Han, and Moon Sang Min have drawn attention for their restrained yet emotionally charged portrayals.

Go Ah Sung plays Mi Jung, a reserved young woman who works alone in a department store’s underground storage room. With disheveled hair, a bare face, and a withdrawn demeanor, Mi Jung keeps her distance from others and becomes the target of teasing from her co-workers. Her life begins to shift only after meeting Gyeong Rok, who approaches her without prejudice.

Byun Yo Han takes on the role of Yo Han, a free-spirited character with bleached hair and a passion for rock music. Although he works as a parking attendant, rumors surround him due to his carefree attitude toward everything. While he appears friendly and open on the surface, moments of solitude hint at emotional scars hidden beneath his relaxed exterior.

Moon Sang Min portrays Gyeong Rok, a former aspiring dancer who has given up his dream and now works part-time at the same department store. After noticing Mi Jung working alone, he becomes drawn to her. Once indifferent to the world around him, Gyeong Rok gradually begins to change, setting the stage for the intertwined growth of the three characters.

Reflecting on their roles, Go Ah Sung shared that confronting her character’s vulnerability allowed her to feel freer as an actor. Byun Yo Han explained that visual details, such as leaving dark roots beneath bleached hair, helped express Yo Han’s inner contradictions. Moon Sang Min added that Gyeong Rok’s lines often felt deeply personal, underscoring his strong connection to the role.

Pavane is scheduled to be released on February 20, offering a quiet yet poignant exploration of wounded youth, healing, and emotional connection.
