The extension allows the film to remain in theaters across the Spring Festival period.
According to data from Maoyan Professional Edition, the film has been in release for 61 days and has accumulated a total box office of over 410 million yuan. Since its debut, “Gezhi Town” has maintained steady box office performance, supported by its realistic storytelling approach and the strong attention surrounding its leading cast.
As another collaboration between director Kong Sheng and screenwriter Lan Xiaolong, the film attracted significant interest prior to its release. The decision to extend its theatrical run reflects continued confidence from exhibitors in the film’s market appeal and audience demand.
