Lim Subeen, who gained attention through Season 5 of the dating reality show “Single’s Inferno,” is reportedly in discussions to join a new television drama. On February 13, Korean media outlet SPOTV News reported that Lim Subeen had been cast in tvN’s upcoming drama “Gifted” (working title). Later that day, tvN clarified that Lim Subeen is currently in talks for the project and that discussions are progressing positively.

Based on a popular webtoon of the same name, “Gifted” tells the story of a professional baseball coach who gains extraordinary abilities following an unexpected accident. The narrative follows his journey as he transitions from coaching a professional team to leading a bottom-ranked high school baseball team, highlighting themes of growth, resilience, and rediscovery.
Actor Kim Woo Bin is reportedly set to headline the series, while Seo Eun Soo is in talks to play the female lead. If finalized, the cast lineup would bring together performers from diverse professional backgrounds.
Notably, Lim Subeen has a real-life connection to the drama’s sports theme. Before entering the entertainment industry, he was a baseball player whose career path changed due to injury. In 2025, he appeared in the drama “A Head Coach’s Turnover” under the stage name Cha Been, marking his initial steps into acting.
As Lim Subeen continues to explore opportunities beyond reality television, his potential involvement in “Gifted” may represent a significant step in his transition into scripted productions. Whether he can establish himself within the competitive drama industry will depend largely on his performance and future project choices.
