BLACKPINK has once again rewritten K-pop history with the release of their new mini album “DEADLINE.” On February 27 at 2 p.m. KST, BLACKPINK officially made their highly anticipated comeback, unveiling both the album “DEADLINE” and its title track “GO.” The return immediately sparked explosive global response, reflected in both sales figures and digital chart performance.

According to Hanteo Chart, “DEADLINE” recorded an extraordinary 1,461,785 copies sold on its first day alone. This achievement sets a new milestone as the highest first-day sales ever recorded by a girl group album in Hanteo history. The previous record had been held by “MY WORLD” from aespa, which posted 1,372,929 copies in first-day sales upon its release in 2023. With this new benchmark, BLACKPINK has firmly established a new standard for girl group album performance.
Beyond surpassing the previous record, “DEADLINE” also marks another historic accomplishment for BLACKPINK. The group has now become the first girl group in Hanteo history to have two separate albums exceed one million copies in first-day sales, further solidifying their commercial power and dedicated fanbase.
Global digital performance has mirrored the physical sales momentum. By the morning of February 28 KST, “DEADLINE” had reached No. 1 on the iTunes Top Albums chart in at least 32 regions worldwide. Meanwhile, the music video for “GO” rapidly climbed to No. 1 on YouTube’s worldwide Top Trending Videos chart, underscoring the group’s sustained international influence.
With both record-breaking sales and dominant chart performance, BLACKPINK’s comeback with “DEADLINE” signals not only a strong return but another defining moment in the group’s ongoing global trajectory.
