Yoo Su Bin and Lee Yeon are set to demonstrate compelling on-screen chemistry in the upcoming drama Perfect Crown, standing alongside Byeon Woo Seok and IU as trusted confidants within the story’s central narrative.

Set in an alternate universe where modern-day Korea operates as a constitutional monarchy, Perfect Crown follows the romance between Sung Hee Joo, portrayed by IU, a chaebol heiress who appears to have everything yet holds no royal status, and Grand Prince Yi An, played by Byeon Woo Seok, a prince who possesses royal lineage but little else. Their relationship unfolds against a backdrop of social hierarchy and political structure, further complicated by a contract marriage that binds them together.
In Perfect Crown, Yoo Su Bin takes on the role of Choi Hyun, the devoted aide to Prince Yi An. Though he presents a pure and bright exterior, Choi Hyun conceals an intense loyalty. Having been taken in by the prince after being abandoned as a child, he follows Yi An with unwavering dedication, occasionally offering candid admonitions rooted in deep affection. While their connection is formally defined by a ruler–subject dynamic, the bond between Choi Hyun and Prince Yi An resembles that of family and close friends, adding emotional depth to the relationship between Yoo Su Bin and Byeon Woo Seok’s character.

Lee Yeon portrays Do Hye Jung, the chief secretary to Sung Hee Joo, who serves as CEO of Castle Beauty. Raised abroad, Do Hye Jung views social status as an inherent condition, much like a blood type, and therefore struggles to fully relate to Sung Hee Joo’s frustration with hierarchical barriers. Nevertheless, her loyalty to her employer remains resolute. As Sung Hee Joo advances toward her ambitions, Do Hye Jung stands firmly at her side, reinforcing the partnership between Lee Yeon and IU’s character in Perfect Crown.
Newly released stills depict both aides as capable and composed professionals. Choi Hyun appears in tailored suits, projecting calm authority befitting the prince’s right-hand man. In contrast, Do Hye Jung adapts her styling to different circumstances, embodying the refined sophistication expected of the chief secretary to a leading corporate figure.
As Sung Hee Joo and Prince Yi An navigate their contract marriage, their respective aides are naturally drawn into close proximity as well. This convergence sets the stage for potential teamwork and nuanced interactions between Choi Hyun and Do Hye Jung, further enriching the layered dynamics within Perfect Crown. The drama is scheduled to premiere in April.
