Actor Jang Keun Suk may soon return to the small screen with a new drama project after several years away from television.
According to a report released on March 10, Jang Keun Suk is currently in discussions to star in a drama tentatively titled Hyupban. If he accepts the offer, the project would mark his first television drama in approximately three years.

Responding to the report, a representative for Jang Keun Suk confirmed that the actor is considering the role. The representative stated that he is “positively reviewing” the offer, indicating that discussions are ongoing but no final decision has been announced yet.
The upcoming drama Hyupban is described as a heartwarming story centered on an unusual encounter between two characters from very different worlds. The narrative follows Ma Han Sang, a gangster who possesses remarkable cooking skills. After saving a college student from danger, he ends up hiding in the student’s home. Through shared meals and everyday moments, the two gradually form a bond and provide each other with comfort and emotional warmth.
Hyupban is reportedly based on a popular Japanese novel and its television adaptation. The drama will be directed by Lee Min Woo, who previously worked on well-known series such as Boys Over Flowers and Not Others.
Throughout his career, Jang Keun Suk has built a strong reputation in both Korea and overseas through a number of popular dramas. His notable works include You’re Beautiful, Love Rain, and Bel Ami. If he confirms his participation in Hyupban, the project would become his first drama since Decoy, which aired three years ago.
According to current plans, Hyupban is expected to begin filming in the first half of 2026.
