The production of New Recruit Season 4 has officially begun, marking the next chapter for the military-themed black comedy series. According to reports released on March 16, the upcoming season started its first round of filming on March 15, signaling the start of full-scale preparations for the drama’s return.
A representative from ENA confirmed the development, stating that New Recruit Season 4 has entered production and is currently scheduled to premiere in the second half of 2026. The series is expected to be broadcast as part of ENA’s Monday–Tuesday drama lineup later this year.

Based on the popular animation of the same name, New Recruit presents a black comedy narrative centered on the lives of young men in their twenties serving in the South Korean military. Through a blend of satire and realism, the drama explores the daily routines, hidden rules, and often absurd situations that emerge within military life.
Since its debut, New Recruit has steadily expanded its audience. The first season premiered in 2022 and was followed by Season 2 in 2023. After a brief hiatus, the story continued with Season 3 in 2025, further developing the characters and the unique comedic tone that defines the series.
With filming now underway, New Recruit Season 4 is expected to continue portraying the experiences of young recruits as they navigate discipline, hierarchy, and unexpected friendships within the military environment. As the series moves into its fourth installment, viewers are anticipating how the story will further explore the humorous and sometimes chaotic realities of life in the barracks.
