Actress Joo Hyun Young is reportedly in discussions to join the upcoming romance drama Nine to Six (working title), potentially starring alongside Park Min Young and Yook Sungjae.

On March 19, reports emerged that Joo Hyun Young had been offered a role in the SBS drama. In response, her agency confirmed that she is “positively reviewing” the offer, indicating that her participation has not yet been finalized but is under active consideration.

Nine to Six is based on the Chinese drama The Rational Life and centers on a woman who has long prioritized her career over romance. Her life begins to shift when she meets a warm and considerate man, leading to changes in both her professional path and emotional outlook. The project has already drawn attention with Park Min Young and Yook Sungjae in talks to take on the lead roles.

According to reports, Joo Hyun Young has been offered the role of Shin Ji Won, a housewife in her 10th year of marriage and part of a DINK (dual income, no kids) couple. As the close friend of the female lead, her character is known for her candid and straightforward personality, with a lifestyle that reflects both independence and personal conviction.

Shin Ji Won’s storyline is expected to add emotional depth to the narrative. A former bank employee who left her job after marriage, she had initially agreed with her husband not to have children. However, as time passes, she begins to experience internal conflict regarding that decision, introducing a more nuanced exploration of marriage, identity, and personal choice.

If confirmed, Joo Hyun Young’s addition would further strengthen the ensemble, bringing a grounded and relatable perspective to a drama that aims to balance romance with realistic life dilemmas.
