The upcoming season of New Recruit 4 has revealed its first group photo, offering a glimpse into both familiar faces and new additions set to shake up the story.
Based on the hit animation of the same name, New Recruit continues its black comedy exploration of life in South Korea’s military, focusing on the culture, hierarchy, and often absurd realities faced by young men in their 20s.

In New Recruit 4, Kim Min Ho returns as Park Min Seok, whose military journey enters a new phase as he is promoted to corporal. What he initially expects to be a more stable routine quickly turns into a fresh wave of challenges, as unexpected changes begin to unfold within his unit.
A key turning point comes with the arrival of a mysterious new recruit and a newly appointed battalion commander, signaling the start of a more turbulent chapter. At the same time, past storylines continue to evolve, including the return of Choi Il Gu, played by Nam Tae Woo, who reenters the unit as a non-commissioned officer after his emotional departure in the previous season.
The core ensemble—including Kim Dong Jun, Oh Dae Hwan, Lee Sang Jin, Jo Jin Se, Lee Chung Goo, Jeon Seung Hoon, Kim Yo Han, and Lee Soo Ji—is set to reprise their roles, bringing back the dynamic chemistry that has defined the series. Their characters, ranging from model soldiers to unpredictable troublemakers, are expected to deliver both humor and tension once again.
Meanwhile, new cast members Lee Hyun Kyun and Lee Won Jung will introduce additional layers to the narrative. The former takes on the role of a reform-driven battalion commander, while the latter plays a mysterious recruit whose presence is likely to disrupt the already complex dynamics within the unit.
As Park Min Seok transitions from an inexperienced recruit to someone bearing responsibility within the ranks, the upcoming season is poised to deepen both character development and situational conflicts.
New Recruit 4 is scheduled to premiere in the second half of the year.
