Celebrating Fujiko Hemming’s Legacy
On October 2nd, Universal Music LLC will release the original soundtrack for the highly anticipated documentary film, “The Pianist in Love – Fujiko Hemming.” This film captures the extraordinary life of Fujiko Hemming, a pianist celebrated for her vibrant performances across the globe, who passed away in April at the remarkable age of 92. Her life was one of determination and passion, vividly depicted by director Kazuyoshi Komatsu over four years of filming.
The Soundtrack and Its Highlights
Fans can look forward to the original soundtrack titled “Koisuru Pianist Fujiko Hemming Original Soundtrack ~ Colors 2,” which is set to include a selection of 12 masterpieces that played significant roles in Fujiko’s life. Notably, the soundtrack features her signature piece, Liszt’s “La Campanella,” performed during a concert at the Conservatoire Theater in Paris back in March 2023. Other captivating compositions such as Ravel’s “Pavane for a Dead Princess” and Schubert’s iconic “Ave Maria” will also be included.
Bonus Features and Special Editions
The soundtrack will come with two bonus tracks: “Amazing Grace,” featuring Okura Jinnai, and a heartfelt rendition of “Lullaby from the Chugoku Region,” sung by Fujiko herself. Additionally, the soundtrack package will include a DVD with exclusive videos, including a music video for Schumann’s “Traumerei” and a concert commercial shot in France, a first for Japanese audiences. Enthusiasts will also receive a “special angel card,” showcasing an illustration drawn by the late pianist along with one of her cherished quotes.
