Recently, entertainment figure Xu Lisha (nicknamed “Mo Sao”) has been making waves online. She not only exposed a series of private matters concerning actor Xu Kai but also turned her attention to well-known screenwriter and producer Yu Zheng, after he defended Xu Kai during their online disputes. Their public “online battle” began on August 22, when Xu Lisha released a video of Yu Zheng acting playfully and further claimed that “his white moonlight is He Shengming,” which immediately went viral. While Yu Zheng quickly went silent on the matter, He Shengming unexpectedly gained attention from the renewed exposure.
Although Xu Lisha later announced on August 25 that she would “pause for half a month,” seemingly out of respect for national events, she reignited controversy on September 2. This time, she directly tagged Yu Zheng and alleged that he has a child named Oliver, born just one day before the launch of Ziye Gui. When asked by netizens whose child it was, she cryptically replied “Miao Miao Miao’s,” implying the boy was Yu Zheng’s, and further claimed the child is already seven years old.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time Yu Zheng has faced such speculation. Back in 2018, Phoenix Entertainment reported on rumors suggesting he might have a child. At the time, netizens discovered a Weibo account called “Oliver’s New Life,” which was suspected to belong to Yu Zheng. The account contained posts detailing the experiences and emotions of a new father—ranging from the confusion of suddenly having to care for a baby, to hopes that his child would inherit the family’s legacy. The writing style, particularly phrases such as “this life’s honor and disgrace will ultimately need to be carried on by someone,” struck many as being very characteristic of Yu Zheng’s voice.
Although the account had been registered in 2010, updates only began in mid-2018, shortly before Story of Yanxi Palace rose to fame. Posts described the blogger’s wish for the child to resemble him “because that would be more handsome,” and even concerns about looking too old when picking the child up from kindergarten. These details, along with the account’s domain name “yuzheng1978” matching Yu Zheng’s known registrations, led Phoenix Entertainment to suggest the account belonged to him. Yu Zheng, however, firmly denied the claim, and the matter faded as attention shifted to his work.
Xu Lisha’s latest claims have reignited the discussion years later. While she has since deleted the post about Yu Zheng allegedly having a child, the topic continues to circulate widely online. Some viewers of her livestreams suggested she may have initially only wanted Xu Kai’s attention, not to expose major scandals. Others speculate that she might have been pushed into the spotlight by external forces, with her revelations amplified to target both Yu Zheng and Xu Kai, potentially destabilizing their studio.
At present, no verified evidence confirms that Yu Zheng has a child, and he has not publicly responded to the renewed allegations. For now, the story remains in the realm of speculation, though it has undeniably added fuel to an already turbulent controversy.
