KBS 2TV’s upcoming romance drama Last Summer has unveiled a closer look at the evolving relationship between Choi Sung Eun and Kim Gun Woo — one that begins in the courtroom and slowly transforms into something much deeper.
Last Summer tells the story of two childhood friends who, after years apart, revisit the long-hidden truth behind their first love — a memory sealed away like Pandora’s box.
Choi Sung Eun takes on the role of Song Ha Kyung, a government official in the architecture division affectionately nicknamed “Dr. Song” in her hometown of Patan, where she has lived since she was 12. Kim Gun Woo stars as Seo Soo Hyuk, the youngest son of Korea’s most prestigious law firm, Seo & Joo, and a talented appellate lawyer. Their paths unexpectedly cross when Ha Kyung becomes a plaintiff and Soo Hyuk represents the opposing side, setting up a dynamic filled with both legal tension and emotional undercurrents.
In the newly released stills, Ha Kyung and Soo Hyuk meet outside the courtroom amidst a legal dispute involving Ha Kyung’s childhood friend, Baek Do Ha (played by Lee Jae Wook). The quiet intensity between the two is palpable — calm smiles masking an undercurrent of tension, hinting at unspoken emotions beneath their professional façades.
A contrasting set of stills, however, paints a different picture: Ha Kyung and Soo Hyuk walking side by side, sharing gentle smiles under the sunlight. The sudden warmth in their expressions suggests a subtle shift — from guarded confrontation to growing understanding, and perhaps, something more tender.
As curiosity builds around how their relationship evolves from legal opponents to possible lovers, Last Summer promises to deliver both emotional depth and nostalgic charm.
The drama is set to premiere on November 1 at 9:20 p.m. KST on KBS 2TV.
