Set in the Joseon era, Moon River tells the story of Crown Prince Yi Kang (played by Kang Tae Oh), a man burdened by duty who has forgotten how to smile, and Park Dal Yi (Kim Se Jeong), a merchant who has lost her memory. When an inexplicable twist of destiny causes their souls to be exchanged, the two are forced to live each other’s lives—challenging not only their identities but also their hearts.

Joining them are Lee Shin Young as Yi Woon, Yi Kang’s cousin and a deposed prince who now lives peacefully, detached from power; Jin Goo as Kim Han Cheol, the formidable Left State Councilor whose authority surpasses even the king’s; and Hong Su Zu as Kim Woo Hee, his daughter and the most admired woman in Joseon.

The newly released posters reflect each character’s emotional core. Kang Tae Oh’s Yi Kang stares intently into the distance, his tagline declaring, “Then I will show you—that I am the exception.” Kim Se Jeong’s Park Dal Yi stands beneath the moonlight, her quiet resolve captured in the line, “Since I saved your life, your life is now my responsibility.”

Lee Shin Young’s Yi Woon appears against a misty backdrop, his words soft yet poignant: “Don’t pull the trigger—I’ll always be holding your hands tightly.” Meanwhile, Hong Su Zu’s Kim Woo Hee is depicted in the rain, her strength and determination shining through her vow, “If I ever fire this gun at someone, it’ll be to protect them.”

Jin Goo’s Kim Han Cheol dominates his poster amid blazing flames, his line—“Now, do you understand? The laws that govern this palace.”—underscoring his unshakable command over the royal court.

A final special poster captures the intertwined fates of Yi Kang and Park Dal Yi: the prince standing solemnly before the grand palace, and the merchant smiling gently among wildflowers at dawn. A red thread of destiny connects them, hinting at the emotional journey awaiting viewers.

With its captivating visuals and a story that blends fantasy, fate, and forbidden love, “Moon River” promises to deliver a poignant tale of identity and connection. The drama is set to premiere on October 31 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
